Conflicts of interest

A platform that recommends providers has to be honest about which providers it is connected to. Here is how we handle that.

What counts as a conflict
We record a conflict of interest where a provider on this platform is connected to us through any of:
- An interest held by a founder or director of My Support Finder.
- An interest held by a staff member.
- An investor relationship.
- A commercial partnership.
- Common ownership with another listed provider.
What we do about it
- The relationship is recorded against the provider, with the dates it applies.
- A plain-English disclosure appears on the provider's public profile.
- The relationship has no effect on ranking. It is not an input to the matching engine.
- Staff with a personal interest in a provider may not review that provider's verification, moderate its reviews or handle complaints about it.
- Every verification decision records who made it, so this is auditable rather than assumed.
How you can check
Our ranking policy lists every input the matching engine uses and every input it refuses to use. Affiliation appears on the refused list, and our test suite fails the build if affiliation data ever reaches the scoring code.
