Example of what you will see
Westside Allied Health
Occupational therapy in Melbourne's west. Accepts plan-managed and self-managed participants. Can start within two weeks.
Why this provider appeared
Delivers every support you asked for. Based close to your suburb. Offers Punjabi-speaking staff. Availability confirmed 4 days ago.
Verification reflects checks completed by My Support Finder and does not represent government endorsement.
Built to be checked, not just claimed
Trust on this platform means something specific and dated. Here is what we hold ourselves to.
Evidence, then a badge
A person reviews the documents. Each badge names exactly what was checked and when.
Availability with a date
Providers reconfirm every 7 days. You always see how fresh the answer is.
Ranking you can audit
Paid plans and ownership have no effect on results. Our ranking policy is public.
Consent that is granular
Share section by section. Preview exactly what a provider receives before you send it.
How it works
Four steps, at your pace
Step 1: Tell us what you need
Describe the support you are looking for, where you live and when you would like to start. You choose how much to share.
Step 2: See providers who fit
We show providers who deliver that support, travel to your area, accept your funding type and have confirmed they can take someone new.
Step 3: Compare and decide
Compare up to four providers side by side. Every result explains why it appeared and what we could not confirm.
Step 4: Send a referral and track it
Send a referral with your consent, see when it is opened, and get a reminder if the provider has not replied.
Start with the support you are looking for
We are starting in Victoria — Melbourne's west, Geelong and Ballarat — and adding regions as providers join.
Real availability
Stop ringing providers who are already full
A directory that never expires will always tell you a provider is available. We would rather tell you the truth, including when we are not sure.
What each availability label means
- Available now
- Confirmed by the provider within 7 days.
- Available from a date
- Taking referrals to start later.
- Waitlist
- Taking enquiries, not starting yet.
- Not confirmed recently
- Over 14 days old. We lower our confidence and say so.
Explainable matching
Every result tells you why it is there
Matching runs in two stages. First we rule out providers who cannot help — wrong service, wrong area, wrong funding type, no capacity. Then we score what is left against what you told us matters.
What we ruled out
You can see which providers were excluded and the reason for each one.
What we scored
Service fit, confirmed availability, distance, experience, language, your preferences, responsiveness, continuity and verified feedback.
What we never use
Subscription level, advertising spend, provider revenue, or any ownership relationship with us.
Support Passport
Tell your story once
Your Support Passport holds what you need, how you prefer to be supported and what will not work for you. You reuse it for every search instead of explaining yourself again to each provider.
- You do not have to share a diagnosis. Describing what you need is enough.
- Each section has its own sharing setting, from private to shared after a provider accepts.
- Preview the exact information a provider will receive before you send it.
- See a full history of who was shown what, and when.
- Save and come back later. Nothing is lost.
Compare up to four providers side by side
Suitability, availability, verification, registration, pricing, experience, languages, accessibility, response time, service areas and any important limitations — not a single star rating.
For support coordinators and recovery coaches
Search, compare and track referrals across your caseload
Work with recorded participant authority, keep shortlists per participant, see provider response times and export a referral record when you need one.
For providers
Receive referrals that match your services, location and current capacity
Fewer enquiries you have to turn away. Keep your capacity current, respond in one place, and show participants what you have actually had verified.
Safety and privacy
You decide what is shared, and you can change your mind
We collect what we need to match you well and no more. You can withdraw consent, export your information and ask us to delete what we are able to delete.
If something is wrong
You can report a concern from anywhere in the platform. Serious safety reports open a restricted case that only authorised safeguarding staff can see, and we will tell you what happens next.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 000. My Support Finder is not an emergency service.
Questions people ask us
Does My Support Finder cost anything for participants?
No. The platform is free for participants, nominees and families. Providers pay for optional software tools, and that never affects where they appear in your results.
What does "verified" actually mean?
It means a person at My Support Finder checked specific evidence — an ABN, an insurance certificate, an NDIS registration — and recorded when they checked it. Each badge is separate, so you can see exactly what was verified and what was not. We do not verify quality of care.
How do you know a provider really has availability?
Providers are asked to reconfirm their capacity every 7 days. We show you the date they last confirmed. After 14 days without confirmation we mark it out of date and stop showing them as available now.
Can providers pay to appear higher in my results?
No. Subscription level, advertising and any ownership relationship with My Support Finder are excluded from ranking by design, and we test for it. Our ranking policy is published in full.
Who sees my information?
Only who you allow. Each part of your Support Passport has its own sharing setting, and you can see exactly what a provider will receive before you send anything. You can view a full history of every disclosure.
What if the provider does not work out?
We check in with you 7, 30 and 90 days after your support starts. If it is not working you can reopen your search without filling everything in again, and we keep a backup shortlist ready.
Your needs. Your choice. Your support.
Start with what you need. Share only what you decide to share.
